The Sportsman's Inn is open all year round for food, fine ales and accommodation.

The Sportsman's kitchen.    

All our meat is supplied by the winner of the “Best Butcher in the North West”, G.Steadman of Sedbergh.
The beef comes from local farmers like Jim Little of Soulby and Andrew Pratt of Sedbergh, the lamb is locally reared on the farms of Bob Ellison of Dent or Neil Haworth of Garsdale and free range pork comes from Lakes and Dales Born and Bred in Tebay. This ensures a high standard is maintained in both the quality of the meat and animal welfare. Less food miles, less stress, animals reared naturally in a natural environment.
Our Chicken is from grain fed welfare audited chickens and all our eggs are now free range from local farmer Gordon Wilson, of Lamb parrock, Cowgill.
All our salad and vegetables are delivered fresh from “The Good Life” in Hawes  and our puddings (if not homemade) are made in the Lakes by ‘Classic Desserts’ of Keswick.
(Did I mention the Lakes Double Jersey ice cream from Kendal)?

The bar. (the finest ale in the dale)

Our well stocked bar hosts some of the finest real ales available. We regularly stock beers from  Copper dragon Brewery of Skipton,  Moorhouses of Burnley and Timothy Taylors of Keighley, along with many other beers from nearby.

Having a party? Then why not have it here.

We can cater for your birthday, wedding or anniversary party here at The Sportsman's. Providing anything from a buffet to a sit down meal, in a warm friendly, family atmosphere. (maximum of 50 for comfort)

Accommodation.

We can accommodate up to 10 people in two double and three twin bedded rooms. Single occupancy subject to availability and surcharge. None of the rooms are ensuite, but all offer unparalleled views of the open fell and river Dee, are centrally heated and have tea and coffee making facilities with access to a comfortable residents lounge. Vegetarian breakfasts are available on request (please let us know the night before) and packed lunches for the next day can also be arranged. We offer 4 nights stay for the price of 3 nights, throughout the year.

We regret that we no longer allow dogs at The Sportsman's.
