Our bar serves a selection of cask ales which are changed  regularly giving you the chance to sample some of the excellent  real ales now available. There has never been a better time to be a beer drinker.

Children are allowed until 9.00pm but are not allowed at the bar.

Last orders for children's meals is 8:30pm.

Dogs are not allowed in the bar.

We offer a wide range of meals from locally sourced ingredients and take pride in keeping things local. The Sportsman is a pub and serves good, honest, value for money meals prepared and cooked by the proprietor (not someone pretending to be a chef), so there will be no Chef's specials or jargon here.

We are a pub that sells food, not a restaurant that sells beer.

We offer accommodation all year round in double or twin bedded rooms with their own private facilities. All rooms are centrally heated with tea and coffee making facilities and splendid views over looking the river Dee and famous Settle / Carlisle railway line.

Room rate for 2012 is £75.00 for double or twin room and £45.00 for single occupancy (subject to availability). We no longer accept pets.
